This guide will help you get started when you start your Ipad for the first time.
In order to use and get started with your iPad for the first time you must connect it to a computer with an iTunes account. So whether you plan to use iTunes with your iPad or not you need to do this once to get started.
Get started with your Ipad
1. Start your iPad by pressing the black button at the top of the short side of your iPad.
Your iPad has screensavers activated by default, so to turn it back on if the screen turns off, press either the start button on the short side or on the large center button at the bottom.
2. So if you have an iTunes account on a computer, connect your iPad via the included USB cable to your computer with iTunes installed on.
Your iPad will automatically install the drivers and connects to your computer and then to your iTunes account.
So unless you have an iTunes account, start by registering one.
Here's how to get an iTunes account installed on a computer
1. Download the latest version of iTunes on your computer (not your iPad) from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
2. Connect your iPad via USB cable to your computer with iTunes. See picture above.
Now, your iPad starts.
(In my case a "swedish" welcome screen. This depends on your language settings.)
Dissmiss the information box on the homepage about how to arrange icons on desktop to move forward.
Now you should be on your way with your new Ipad!
