For a simple, neat way to create indents in your text, we recommend that you use tabs. A tab defines how far in various indents will be and also whether you want special properties for your indents.

This is what you do:

1. Click the View tab.

2. Select Ruler in the Show/Hide sub-tab.

3. Click on the ruler where you want to define a tab.

4. Double-click the tab in the ruler if you want to type in the position manually.

5. Specify dimensions and properties.

6. Click OK.

You have now inserted a tab.
